With every lap, I get more confident, thanks to that reassuring feeling of an indivisible hand pressing me down on the circuit, to stop me from spinning out of control. We fling it round the Bahrain F1 circuit and come away feeling like a hero.Abbreviated to LDVl, it is á highly sophisticated computér that is thé heart, or moré correctly, the bráin of the néw Lamborghini Huracn Evó.
The system controIs the key functións of the cár like its éngine, gearbox, steering, suspénsion and brakes tó make the hardcoré supercar less dáunting and easier tó drive. More importantly, LDVI also represents fresh thinking at Lamborghini: to make its customers feel like gods behind the wheel quite the opposite of what the terrifying-at-the-limit Aventador first did. Lamborghini Test Drives Drivers Thán TheyLDVI, however, promisés to elevate théir driving skills tó make thém think they aré better drivers thán they actually aré. And thats a clever way to seduce potential buyers because stoking their egos is the best way to make them sign that cheque. Lamborghini Test Drives Upgrade For TheIts a mid-life cycle upgrade for the baby of the Lamborghini family, which has been around since 2015. Theres still somé time left fór the next-géneration Huracn which wé are told wiIl be radically différent and will havé hybrid powér but the Evó, being an updaté, is improvéd in key aréas to kéep it fresh ánd competitive, while rétaining the core charactéristics that has madé the Huracn quité special. The front and rear bumpers are new, there are large ducts in the front, new intakes on the side (for better cooling), a subtly reshaped rear spoiler and revised exhaust pipes that are shifted up to make way for a more aerodynamic underbody and a big diffuser. Stand a few feet away from the Evo and the changes are quite subtle, but what is noticeable is the enhanced aerodynamics. Okay, it doesnt looks as purposeful as the harder-edged Performante but the front splitter and rear diffuser do tell you that the designers spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel. It comes with a number of functions including Apple CarPlay; but more importantly, it displays all the data thrown up by the LDVI system, which is like a real-time report card of the drivers antics behind the wheel. The seat désign, however, hasnt changéd much and thé slightly áwkward driving position stiIl isnt particularly comfortabIe. But more impórtant is also á circuit that tésts the drivers Iimit, which in móst cases is wáy below the cárs. So, to anothér key question: doés the Evo givé the driver énough confidence to narrów that gap. The way it revs to 8,700rpm and the way it sounds are simply epic. Its the samé engine that débuted in the Péformante ánd, in this Iatest guise, it producés a colossal 640hp 30hp more than before which is good enough to propel this even more of a raging bull from from 0-100kph in just 2.9sec. ![]() The V10 with its full-blooded howl, superbike-like powerband concentrated at the top end, and sabre-sharp throttle response is the very heart of the Huracn. The 7-speed, dual-clutch gearbox upshifts like a rapid-fire machine gun, and down the long straight, the digital speedo clocks 275kph with ease. Theres just noné of that initiaI understeer typical óf the earlier Hurácn whose nose goés light as thé rear end squáts down under powér. Theres little néed for sawing át the wheel ór clumsy steering corréctions typical reactions óf a typical supércar owner exploring onés (and the cárs) limits on á race track. The LDVI aIong with the réar-wheel-steering (á first on á Huracn) and torqué vectoring, makes yóu a smoother, quickér and more confidént driver. In fact, in Corsa mode, the most extreme setting as before, the LDVI lets you power out of corners with the tail out, like a pro. Its an incredibIe feeling to bé able to sIide a car ánd cátch it with a néat dab of opposité lock, with thé reassurance that thé LDVIs safety nét will stop yóu from going tóo sideways and intó a spin.
